Its complicated . . .
I use outlook to access a POP3 account and 3 gmail accounts. It used to be an easy way of getting all mail in one inbox then Google Sulked and stopped POP access to Gmail. IMAP worked for a while (but its a pain because it has a separate inbox) but most mail comes via POP3 and that used to work fine so not too bad.
Then Outlook stopped logging into Gmail - no idea why and ever since then Outlook reports its working off line (presumably because it cant access the IMAP servers)
But this screws up the POP3 mailbox because that thinks its off line as well despite the fact that it works fine so oputlook (for security I presume) does not download any graphic content from the POP3 server and whereas before you could click to download graphic content, that no longer exists so the POP3 mail does not work reliably either. So How can I get ooutlook to treat POP3 servers as if they are onlipne (which the are) ?
I suspect if I could get outlook to connect to the IMAP servers it would work? But how do I do this?
Best of all if I could access Gmail via POP3
Actually longer term I think I just have to lose gmail
