Outlook has been fine until very recently. Now extremely slow to open (up

to 5 mins). I thought it might be the datafile was too large so created a

new datafile, but still slow. Any solutions? - Carmel

Usually this is caused by an add-in that you have installed.

Does it load more quickly in Outlook Safe Mode?

Start-> Run; outlook.exe /safe

To troubleshoot add-ins see;

Yes it loaded faster in Safe Mode - the only new thing is Outlook Connector.

Can you tell me how to remove this?

Thanks

Carmel

If you are not using the Outlook Connector, you can uninstall it via Control

Panel-> Add/Remove Programs (Windows XP) or via Uninstall a Program (Windows

Vista and Windows 7).

Make sure you first remove any Outlook Connector account from your mail

profile in Outlook via Tools-> E-mail Accounts-> Next

However, the Outlook Connector is not known to cause such startup delays.

Did you troubleshoot the other add-ins already as per the link I gave you in

my original reply?

-Bad shortcut links on desktop. So
-Delete s/cut on desktop
-In Win7, Go to Programs. Right-Clk icon for Outlook.exe and hit 'Send' to create a fresh icon on Desktop
This worked for me [after unsuccessfully tinkering around with Add-Ins :)]
