I need to migrate my Outlook 2019 using *.ost from one Win10 PC to another. I would like to know the current best practices to do this. Do I migrate over the OST? When I config the IMAP mail on the new installation, it will probably create another OST file. Let me know :)
 
From my search on the internet, I found that there are some direct tools to do this job easily and quickly like Sharegate, Gs Richcopy360, Carbonite, and GoodSync but I didn't have the chance to try any of these.
Anyway manually, when migrating Outlook 2019 from one Windows 10 PC to another, it's recommended to transfer the entire Outlook profile, including the *.ost file. However, before doing so, ensure that both PCs have the same version of Outlook installed and are updated with the latest updates and patches.
Here are the steps on how to migrate your Outlook 2019 *.ost file from one Win10 PC to another:
  1. On the old PC, export your data from the OST file. To do this, open Outlook and go to File > Open & Export > Import/Export. Select Export to a file and click Next. Select Personal Folder File (.pst) and click Next. Select the folder(s) or items you want to export and click Next. Choose a location to save the PST file and click Finish.
  2. Copy the PST file to the new PC. You can do this by using a USB drive, a cloud storage service, or another method.
  3. On the new PC, install Outlook 2019 and create a new profile. When you create a new profile, you will be prompted to enter your email address and password.
  4. Import your data into the new profile. To do this, open Outlook and go to File > Open & Export > Import/Export. Select Import from another program or file and click Next. Select Personal Folder File (.pst) and click Next. Browse to the location of the PST file you copied in Step 2 and click Open. Click Finish to import the data into the new profile.
