Migrating all OL 2010 accounts to new Windows 7 user account

Hi folks, my 5 year old profile has become corrupted and continually gives me the Windows Explorer has stopped working/restarting loop. However, I've been able to set up a new account on the same laptop without that issue so now I'm going to have to reinstall everything, including mail and settings.

My old profile had several mail accounts but I'm only interested in bringing over two to the new profile: one is an exchange account and the other is a pop3 account.

The exchange account only has a 1gb server so much of what I need from it is not on the server, but has been saved to off-line folders. My pop3 account is a mixture of both on-line and off-line content too. I can see these data files in the old profile's appdata folder.

I'm conscious that I need to do the migration in a certain order but don't know whether I should import the accounts, drag and drop them from the old profile or first start with the Control Panel Exchange set up and later import the pop3 content.

I'd be grateful for some tips on how to get these two entities transferred without errors.

The actual account data is in the registry. Because you are making a new windows name, I don't recommend exporting the old profile and trying to use it. Move or copy the pst files to the new Windows account.

Are you using pst files for Exchange mail or using an exchange mailbox and moving mail off the server?

Create the profile in Control panel, Mail and point to the old pst files before existing the dialog. Di has instructions here - http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/how-to-create-a-new-profile/
