Need to digitally sign macro but VBA\Outlook crash

I had been using macros for years until this week. After upgrading to Office 365 64-bit, I now have Outlook 1.2025.1111.100 and Outlook Classic (Microsoft Outlook for Microsoft 365 MSO, Version 2508 Build 16.0.19127.20314, 64-bit). Unfortunately, my macro stopped working in Outlook Classic.

There is an issue with Outlook when you sign your Outlook VBA macros (VBAProject.OTM) and use different Office versions (32-bit and 64-bit) in a domain environment.

Outlook 32-bit and 64-bit create different signature streams, so if you sign your macros in Office 32-bit and then reopen them in 64-bit, Outlook detects that the signature has changed and disables the macros.

1. I created a new certificate using SelfCert.exe.​
2. Then, from Outlook Classic, I opened Visual Basic (Alt + F11).​
3. When I select Tools → Digital Signature, Outlook CRASHES! ​

did you remove the old certificate? Delete both then make a new one.

Yes, I just did. When I select Tools → Digital Signature, Outlook CRASHES!
Any ideas?

Test with a minimal VbaProject.OTM ?

Exit Outlook.
Rename your %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Outlook VbaProject.OTM -> VbaProject_OLD.OTM
Start Outlook. {It will generate a new, empty VbaProject.OTM}
Create a minumal Sub

Public Sub TEST
End Sub

Save. Close VBA. Exit Outlook.
Start Outlook. Try and sign the Project with your Self Cert.

Hornblower409, Thank you very very much. Your solution solve my problems. I was able to copy \ paste all my macros and make them works. My only regret is why did I wait so long to try your solution.
