I searched the old threads, and had to go back a long way to find anything on sync-ing... so I thought I'd start fresh
I've been using iTunes to sync. to my Classic Outlook calendar & Contacts via a USB connection since I had an iPhone 3s,
but Apple is moving away from iTunes and sync. is no longer supported.
The replacement for iTunes - Apple Devices does not support sync. as far as I can tell.
From a scan of 3rd party s/w it seems there are two options for local/usb sync:
CompanionLink & AkrutoSync
CompanionLink syncs to an app that has to be installed - DejaOffice and then from there contacts and calendar can be further sync-ed to the native Apple apps.
AkrutoSync - syncs using a (I'll call it) a dummy Exchange server style connection. All contacts on the iPhone have to be blown away during setup.
This is a bit of an issue for me as my contacts are currently out of sync.
I know @Diane Poremsky (at least was) more fond of CompanionLink and they are an advertiser here on Slipstick.
Are there any other programs I should consider?
Any reason to NOT go with CompanionLink?
Thanks,
Jim
