Cannot accept tasks...

Heya, I'm new... (:


I've seen posts about this before but I'm having trouble finding the solution... My boss is using IMAP and I'm using POP3 and we both have Gmail so there's no Exchange server and when I get sent a task and try to accept it I see this:




The task "<TASK>" cannot be sent. It may be an attachment of another message.




Is it a firewall issue or are we just doing something totally wrong or is it just not going to work? Oh, by the way, my boss has 2007 and I have 2010.
 
I don't think its the firewall. Could be a virus scanner, if you are scanning outbound email.




Other who had this problem are also using IMAP and a few switched to POP3 and it worked fine. It shouldn't matter... but there is apparently something goofy with IMAP accounts.




Try this: move/copy the task message to your local pst's Inbox. Can you accept it from the local pst's inbox? If so, its probably related to the fact that IMAP doesn't support tasks - it may be tryng to save the generated task to your imap folders.
 
I don't think it's the firewall, either. And I don't have antivirus on here... I'm a tech so for me it was just a waste of my netbook's limited resources. But my boss has ZoneAlarm and, hmmmm, I wanna say Avira?
 
zole Alarm scans mail AFAIK, not sure about Aviria. It's known to cause some problems, but not this one.




You are using pop3 so my earlier suggestion of moving the message probably won't do anything. (Others who had this problem received the task in IMAP acct.)




You could try safe mode to rule out addins. (Hold CTRL as you click on the Outlook icon to start in Safe mode.)
 
Well, after switching from IMAP to POP3 my boss sent me another task and the same thing happened when I tried to accept it.
 
Still no resolution on this issue... And now when I try to send my boss a task as a test and an attempt is made to accept/decline or drag it into the Tasks folder there's an error that ends with "Tasks folder could not be found." What's the problem here?
 
I have the same message , with outlook 2010 tasks

I installed all the updates and service pack

I remove and made nagain the imap account using gmail and I tried also pop3 with yahoo and has the same message.

Maybe is a bag of outlook 2010,

Any help?
 
It's beginning to look that way, but its not a full scale bug as only some people have the problem. What addins do you have installed? File, Options, Addins to check.

No ,is default.

I downgraded to outlook 2007 and I don't have problem with the oldest version.
 
I face this problem only with outlook 2010 ...so far...

with outlook 2003 was perfect
