Outlook 2007 in Outlook 2010 asks for password

I have just bought a Windows 8 PC and Outlook 2010.

When I copied my 'old' Outlook 2007 .pst file to the new PC and tried to open it in Outlook 2010 I got asked for a password.

I had not set a password.

I have tried just clicking with no password entered but no go!

Can you suggest a way forward please?
