BCM import email addresses

If I have a csv file with "company name" "first name" "last name" and "email address", is it possible to import this into BCM is such a way that the email address is imported into an existing contact record rather than create a duplicate contact record?

No. The best you can do is check for duplicate contacts - and I forget if BCM does that check (BCM won't install on this computer so i can't check).

BCM lets you check for duplicate at import, but the choices are 1) Do not import duplicates or 2) Create duplicate record.

I hoped someone/you might have another magic macro which would compare the contact name and company name and when they match assign/import the email address! I thought it might be quite a common requirement and someone might have addressed it in the past.

There is a add-in called Outlook Scrubber that can merge - TeamScope: Outlook CRM, Contact Management, Workflow - Collaborative Solutions for Outlook - but I don't know if it works with BCM contacts. There is a free version which checks a limited number of contacts - you can see if it works on BCM.

It's a little more complicated than a simple macro can handle, especially if you want to decide which fields too keep.
