I have a puzzling issue that goes back to Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2002. This is a puzzle in a forensics case. A local active PST archive was deleted or removed by accident during the day. Using a shadow copy I see that the exact same named PST reappears at 12:03am the very next morning. No one was logged in remotely, but outlook was open that night. I know that if you remove an active PST and you open Outlook it will prompt for you to find or create a new with the same name, but is it possible that Exchange or Outlook could automatically or be forced to create a PST if no one is on the computer? Is this even possible at all? If not, I will chalk it up to a creation date and time issue.
Thank you for any light you can shed on this.
