Cannot select iCloud calendar

Recently I had a lot of problems with syncing Outlook with my iPhone through iCloud one time even finding an old calendar coming up on the iPhone from I don't know where!

I recently deleted the calendar on iCloud and tried to set up the whole thing again.

When I did the set up originally iCloud transferred all my calendar entries to a calendar called iCloud in Outlook but after deleting the calendar on iCloud and trying a sync now I can't open that calendar and all the other calendars that are now appearing have nothing in them.

How do I get at the entries in the "old" iCloud calendar so I can transfer them to a calendar that is actually going to sync?

The iCloud in your screenshot is the iCloud group, not a calendar. Is the calendar backed up someone or is it at iCloud.com?

Sign out of the iCloud control panel on the computer and sign back in. It will set it up in Outlook again.
 
Thank you for your reply Diane. As I said, I deleted the calendar on iCloud because it kept putting an old calendar on my iPhone. Outlook gets backed up online every couple of days. I signed out of iCloud on my PC and it said it was storing a copy of my data somewhere but it didn't say where but I did see a new iCloud archive appear in my documents. Now when I click on the calendar in the iCloud archive there is nothing in it.
 
Following my earlier reply, pursuant to signing out of iCloud control panel I now have 5 calendars listed none of which appear contain any entries. What is really odd is that whichever calendar I select I get a reminders window with a bunch of entries from an earlier calendar. This seems to be the old calendar that kept appearing on my iPhone. Curious to know where it's located so I can delete it to stop it popping up again where I don't want it.

I've now signed back into iCloud and it's put an empty iCloud in the list of calendars. Now hoping that one of my recent outlook PST file backups contains a calendar.
 
So far no luck. It would seem that you delete the calendar on iCloud it's gone from everywhere. How does one backup an iCloud calendar?
