Restoring old sbb database in existing one

How do I restore an old database (sbb) in a new one? Or, put differently: How do I get the one database in the other? Can I copy/paste the database?
 
Might be wrong but this sounds like a migration to me.
Probably an export import would do the trick.
 
I think that what Paul is asking is how to 'merge' two databases.

My database of 15,000 customers is too large to 'experiment' with. Not sure if anyone else can confirm or carry out a test?

I believe you are correct. You'd restore the backup then create an export file using the second database then import it into the first database. I did this to merge what was formerly a shared database when sharing stopped working. The client wanted to merge the two databases then redo the sharing.
