MY SETUP
-------------------
Personal Domain
Fastmail 30 gigs for $5.00 a month
IMAP
MAILSTORE HOME ( FREE EDITION ) connected to IMAP account for backup.
MS Family plan $9.99 -- Office and One Cloud installed on a Desktop PC, and Mom's Laptop.
Finally said " TO H*ll with LINUX" And came back to Windows 10.
Yes 10, and NOT 11... I had a weird desktop issue with 11
I have tried:
The Bat --- Seemed kinda buggy with rules and IMAP accounts, and I'm not paying that price for an email client
OE CLASSIC - Seemed nice, but missing some important features
WINDOWS LIVE MAIL--- OHHH YEAH, Brings back memories!
Thundrbird--- EW, NO
I thought, "Well, might as well use OUTLOOK, I am paying for Office!"
I am just wondering, what's a good policy to set Outlook on to ARCHIVE from the IMAP server to local folders to save space?
I'm scared TO DEATH to try to use a .PST file after reading a BUNCH of horror stories, and reading about .PST limitations
Otherwise, I'd use my perfered POP3.
But, I don't think I would ever let my .PST file get to 50 gigs, anyways, even though I am one of those that HARDLY EVER throws
away an email, unless I just REALLY don't need it.
So, because of being deathly scared of corrupted .PST files, I've forced myself to switch to using IMAP.
I've never been a IMAP FAN.
ANY WHOO.. Back at the task at hand:
I was gonna set it to like:
ARCHIVE EVERY 180 DAYS
But Outlook wont allow that.
So I am wondering if someone can walk me through, setting OUTLOOK to MASS ARCHIVE my fastmail IMAP account.
I want it to do all folders. Or do I have to set it FOLDER BY FOLDER?
Will it replicate the folder " TAT FOR TAT" when it archives?
Meaning " ARCHIVES 2023" on IMAP server
will be " ARCHIVES 2023" on the local PST?
Thanks,
Chris
