frustrating trying to change email password

Outlook version:     365
Email type or host:    imap/smtp
I use Outlook 365 to access my gmail email account.

I recently updated my gmail password and now Outlook can't read the emails.

I have tried a variety of solutions to get outlook to use the new password with no luck.

Any direction on how to get my email access back would be appreciated.

So you just need to update your password in classic outlook? Is there a 'need password' in the status bar on the lower right side? Click it to enter the password. If not, select the Gmail inbox and click update folder. It should ask for a password.

If all else fails, you can remove the account from Outlook and add it back, but if you have calendar & contacts in “(This computer only)" folders, you'll need to export them before removing the account.

There is no "update folder" option when I select the Gmail inbox.
 
looks like removing and adding back is my only option. But how do I export calendar and contacts? I don't see "This computer only" anywhere
 
This just got interesting. I received a message asking me to respond to Teams using an .ics file. When I clicked on it a message comes up saying I need to update my Outlook 365.

I did the update and the new version has all of my messages, including the latest ones. One problem solved.

However I have to switch back to classic view to see my calendar and contacts items.

I've tried looking for instructions to do this but I get instructions on how to get from older Outlook files to new but not how to get from Classic Outlook 365 to the new version.

Has anybody else done this?
