I use the Classic Outlook client (Office 2021 version) on my desktop PC. Currently, I have only one email account defined, which is a POP3/SMTP account. For the sake of an example, I shall name this account Mickey Mouse with an email address of mickeymouse@emaildomain1. I now wish to create a new POP3/SMTP email account on Outlook, with an email address of mickeymouse@emaildomain2 say, to access a different email server. And I wish to see the folders for each of these accounts in the navigation pane, but clearly separated from each other. Questions:
- Do I need a different .PST file for the new email account?
- Can I use the same name for the new account (that is, Mickey Mouse), or is it necessary, or would it be wise in order avoid confusion, to use a different name? If a different name is necessary or desirable, is it possible to change the name of the existing account so that, for example, I could call the existing account Mickey Mouse 1 and the new account Mickey Mouse 2?
- Similar question regarding the .PST file. Can I change the name of an existing .PST file provided I change the reference to it in Outlook?
- At the moment, with only one email account defined, all I see in my navigation pane is “Personal Folders” with a list of folders underneath. There is no mention of the name of the email account or the email address. If I created a new (that is, a second) email account, how would the navigation pane appear then? Would I see the folders for one email account followed by the folders for the second email account. Would each set of folders be headed by the account name or the email address? And do I have the ability to change the order of the two sets of folders?
