Setting a non-standard default meeting length?

Chris

First, I'm aware of how to change default meeting length as done in the

following:

http://www.lockergnome.com/it/2009/10/29/change-the-default-appointment-interval-in-outlook/

That is not what I want.

I want to set my default meeting length to 50 minutes, but still only have 1

meeting/hour. That way I have a little time between meetings to prepare for

the next meeting and maybe even get a little real work done.

Ideally there would be a built in way to do this since add ons are frowned

upon by my IT group.

Thanks!

It's not possible, short of making two appointments, one for 50 min and one

for 10 min.

BTW - you can't change the time scale - you can set any start/end time

though. Type times in this format to make it easier: 905 and 955.

That's what I was afraid of, thank Diane.

I have just made a small program that allows you to change the meeting length of your outlook appointments to suit your own liking. I made it for the exact same reason that you are looking.

(The idea was to allow 4 minutes of transport time to get from one meeting to another, since that was a problem where I used to work, but it can be customized to 10 minutes)

For novice computer users it might be easier that hacking the outlook VBA, and easier to deploy company wide. It is a single file that can be copied and runs without privileges.
