Outlook 2007 Dropped Hotmail Account

I have a hotmail.com, a live.com, and a private email account all set up in

Outlook 2007 with Outlook Connector. I have been using this setup for the

last several years without any issues.

Last week, my hotmail.com account failed to connect to the server. Since

then I have not been able to get my hotmail.com account to connect. I tried

repair (which responded that it did make repairs), but still was not able to

make a server connection. I deleted the hotmail.com account from Outlook and

then added it back, but I still get a failed message when connecting to the

server.

The only way I can get access to my hotmail.com emails is by going to

hotmail online. The live.com and private email accounts do not have any

problems and are still connecting to their servers within Outlook.

There are no error messages other than the server status at the bottom of

the Outlook window. Anyone have ideas as to why the hotmail and what I can

do to get my hotmail.com back into Outlook 2007?

TIA,

Jack

What reason does it give for the failure?

It doesn't give any reason. Here is the full content of the Outlook

Connector error log file:

"Time: 3/16/2010 4:17:01 AM

Error in Mail

An unknown error was encountered during a synchronization operation with the

service. Some of the items might not have been synchronized.

998 No extra explanation

Time: 3/16/2010 4:17:04 AM

Synchronization error."

Thank you,

Jack

I reinstalled w7 Starter, re-installed office 2007, and the outlook connector (OLC v 14..). I have not been able to access my hotmail account since. I have re-installed OLC v. 14... several times. I still keep getting error message when trying to sync with the account.

The error status is 0 x 80040126 (error sending and recieveing).

Any ideas??

TIA,

Chetan

That is a pretty generic error- look in the sync issues folder and see if there is a 4 digit error code.

did you try removing your hotmail account from your profile and recreating it?
