Outlook 2007 Freezes (Pauses) Every 30 Seconds

Recently my Outlook has begun to freeze (pause) for ~1-3 seconds every 30 seconds - this action interrupts anything occurring outside of the program as well as within (i.e. it interrupts typing, scrolling, resets drop-down selections, etc.). Below are some specs on my system:

Windows 7 Professional

Dell Optiplex 780

Intel Core 2 Duo CPU

32-bit

I've found several other forum sites indicating that others have the same issue though I wasn't able to get anywhere with a resolution. Any help would be much appreciated.
 
Does it happen in Safe mode? (Close Outlook. Hold Ctrl as you click on the Outlook icon to start in Safe mode.)




How many accounts are in your profile? do you have internet calendars or sharepoint syncing to outlook?




What addins are installed?

1) Yes, I opened in Safe Mode and the problem continued to exist.

2) I have one account. Other than Outlook's standard calendar I only have my hotmail calendars loaded... no other synced calendars.
