Hey all

I didn't have this problem under 2007, but just got 2010 and just noticed it cropping up.

I have a couple rules and alerts sorting my mail. Now only the folder that I am selecting shows new e-mails. It's been a couple days and none of the others show anything unless I click into them.

Once I click the folder, it shows several days of e-mails at once.

Is there any way to get it to behave like 07, where it would show immediately?

ie.

Inbox

Subfolder A (1)

Subfolder B (37)

Or so on.

That's typical with imap accounts. Did you install SP1? It addresses some issues with imap, like ne mail notifications.

Also check the settings in Send / Receive settings (Ctrl+Alt+S, then Edit) - make sure the folders are configured to download the messages the same as before.

Hi Diane, thanks for responding.

Yes, I've installed SP1 and Send/Receive settings is set to automatic S/R every 1 minute, all accounts send and receive online and offline. Settings are same as before.

If there isn't an easy fix for this, is there any way to convert it to be a POP account without losing information? Can't really work without folders.

Don't use less than 8 -10 min S/R - if you have *a lot* of subscribed folders, a bit higher might be better.

There really isn't a good solution - POP3 is offline and only works with the inbox, so you can use rules on the server to sort messages as they hit the mailbox.

I've changed it to 10 minutes. Not sure what else would be good to do at this point, it doesn't seem practical to click through all the folders each time I check my e-mail.

Same as yours linked above.

I also tried using "Use the custom behaviour defined below" and individually checking all folders and subfolders - no luck thus far.
