Show all images for jpg attachments in reading pane for received emails?

I've been unable to automatically show attached images in received emails in the reading pane, or if I click open an email (like Outlook Express always used to ). On those emails, instead there are jpg icons at top left of the pane that must be clicked individually to see the images.

Is there a way to display all of the images at once in the reading pane like Outlook Express used to ? I've already added the sender to trusted senders, and unchecked "Don't download pictures automatically."

I'm sad, and frustrated that it isn't possible to see the attachments easily for a given email. I'm regularly receiving large attachment photos sent from iPhones, and I can't know if it's worth taking the time to open the attached photo to see what it is - especially if I receive multiple attached photos in one email.

I'm not familiar with coding in VBA. Is there one of the suggested tools that you have used successfully?
 
The images should preview in the reading pane or open message - just select the message.

The MSDN article by Eric should be complete. It's the only VBA sample I am aware of. There are 2 or 3 commerical applications that will display thumbnails or all image attachments.
