viewing tasks - lower right - in email window

In Outlook 2003, task window in lower right hand of screen while viewing emails showed just task due that day or prior.

Now in Outlook 2010 it shows tasks due or due in the future, plus any email that has been flagged. This really fills up the box and I have missed doing things because so much in the list.

In Outlook 2010 while viewing email in box with task window showing in lower right hand side of screen. Is there a way to have ONLY the TASKS for that day or that are past due? Nothing else?
 
You can customize the view - Show Only Tasks in the To-Do List - the same method works for both the To-do list folder and the To-do pane. Right click on Arrange by: and choose view settings then create the filter.
