Outlook 2010 Tasks are not visible in To Do list

Outlook 2010 (local, NOT Exchange), Win 10 64

The To Do list displays but it is empty. I don’t think this is a setup issue. Neither flagged emails nor tasks show up. Been this way for years, but need the To Do list now.

Any help?

Did you try different views or reset the view? The To-Do list, in both the Task module and in the To-Do bar on the right (if you are using it) will show tasks from all folders but you can filter them using a custom view.

You are the one! This WAS a setup issue. I poked around and changed / cleared some Advanced View settings I had never even seen before and VOILA! Now the To Do list displays properly in the Task Module. I had to go to the same settings again to get the list to appear in the To Do Bar. For YEARS I have made half hearted attempts to straighten this out, but I was serious this time, and asked for help. Now that Outlook 2010 is no longer supported, I know how to do what I want to do!

What do you think the risks are for continuing to use 2010?

This a related but different issue. I have a Task generated TO DO that I cannot mark complete or delete. I get "The message you specified cannot be found." The Task that generated this To Do is no more and has been long gone. I cannot "undelete" the task since its not visible in deleted items. Any way to get rid of this TO DO ?
