hello,

this is a new and most unwelcome occurrence

for a few days (and I had touched NOTHING in the settings), when I hit return while writing a mail, outlook leaves an empty line WHICH I DO NOT WANT:(

I have always hit return twice when I want to end a paragraph, that's fine with me

and I just cannot seem to manage to stop outlook spacing my lines

help please ?

thks :)

I'm assuming you did not change from plain text to HTML format... Check your style. While composing a message, switch to the Format tab. What style is selected?

This screenshot is from an outlook-only install so I can't change the styles, but you should be able to.

hello

thanks for your answer

yes, I do use HTML format... but I always did.... I think....

now, would using HTML forbid having no extra space when hitting "return" ?

by the way, I do not have WORD installed either, only outlook (if that's what you meant)

but I seem able to change style anyway

It's not so much that Outlook adds an extra line, but there is extra spacing added to the line spacing.

Look at the paragraph formatting - click the expand icon in the Paragraph chunk to see the dialog. What is the line spacing set to?

I had checked that... it's always been set to SINGLE SPACING.....
