Password for backup of Outlook

I work on the ship and have lost/forgotten the password for Microsoft outlook for taking a backup of the 'outlook'.Outlook opens to view and send messages.but after a week when taking a backup as usual a password was asked for backup and when i put it it says it is a wrong password.it seems when putting a password for opening outlook and than removing it we may have messed up somewhere but do not remember what we did and hence cannot take a backup of Outlook.your advice will be most appreciated.Thanks/regards
