Outlook 2010 Opening Mail Attachment

All was working fine. I would get an email with a pdf, video, Power Point and so on, double click and it would ask which app did I want to use. No problem. THEN after downloading a Photo Pad program I had use and had to upgrade now due to a new system I put together. When I double click on the file, as usual it would ask how I want to open the it. And the a window would come up and say use "PRISM" from NCH Software. I emailed the company, they told me how to delete the program and all. BUT now when I double click the file, it only highlights the "SAVE" area. No choice to OPEN the file. I have searched all through the Outlook 2010 to see if there is an area to reset or change to open the file. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. THX
 
This is most likely not an Outlook problem, but a Windows issue.
You probably need to reset default app settings that were messed up by that install/uninstall.
There are multiple ways to do this;
You can pick a file type and reset the default for it, or pick an app and set it back to all its defaults.
Or even reset all apps back to their defaults.

another easy but limited to only one file type technique is to download the attachment, then right click on it and select Open With pick the app, and say always use this app.
