There is an issue for which nobody have given me a straightforward answer.

There are some addons as for example clickup addon, that only work for exchange based account.

Does that mean that I can not use those kind of addons in imap based accounts?

There is not a workaround for this ?

What a limitation imposed by Microsoft !!??

😭

Correct. If they are office addins, they will not work in IMAP accounts, only exchange online accounts.

If they are com addins, they should work with imap. But I'm not familiar with clickup to know how it works and if features require exchange mailboxes.

If you have links to the addins, I will take a look.

Outlook desktop supports both com addins and office apps - the advantage of office apps is it works in outlook on the web, outlook on windows, outlook on mac and may work in the outlook mobile apps. But it needs an exchange online mailbox.

For the developer, the office apps are a bit easier to write and distribute.... they could release both kinds of apps, if they feel there are enough pop/imap users to warrant the extra effort.

Thanks for your replies Diane
