I'm having a very interesting issue with a newly set up Outlook 2010.

what happen was when i was creating the account, without putting in the password into the accounts set up page. Keying in the password at the password prompt only gives me a password rejected prompt.

However, if i key in the password in the account set up page and saved it there, it will be a smooth process.

Can anyone advise what is going on here? i cant leave my account password saved in outlook due to security issues.
 


What type of account is configured in Outlook? E.g. POP/IMAP/Exchange

Try creating Outlooknew profile and then configure the same email account to check if it helps.
 


Its a pop account.

i just tried recreating the same account, but it behaves in the same way.
