Confused about multiple pst files

Hello -- I am using Outlook 2010 on a netbook with Windows XP. In the folder where I keep my pst file, there are two: Personal Folders(1).pst and MyArchive.pst. When I open and close the program, both pst files get updated with a new time stamp. Which pst file has my contacts? What does the other pst file have inside of it? If I need to backup my Outlook data, which file is the key one and needs to be saved?
