Task Recurrence Settings

I can set a task recurrence but if I want to remove that recurrence setting I am unable to do so because the relevant button is "greyed out". This means that whatever I do with the task, even deleting it, it keeps re-occurring. If I delete the task, I don't see the option of deleting only a single occurrence or all occurrences.

The only way out of this useless cycle is by setting the recurrence to one day, limiting it to one occurrence and then deleting the task.

Is this strange behaviour known, or is it possible unique to my installation?

does anyone else experience this and i fso is there a solution?
 
That is not normal behavior, or you aren't deleting it correctly. is the task in your POP3 pst file? Is it syncing with anything? (It's possible the synced copy isn't getting deleted and is resyncing.)

Select and deleting the recurring copy should delete the task completely - you should be offered to delete this one or all (but not previous occurrences already marked complete). You can end it early by clicking Recurrence button then changing the end date. Remove recurrence should also end it and leave just a single non-recurring task.
