Dear Diane,

I've Outlook 2019 installed on Win 10. I have a gmail account running w/in Outlook 2019 and configured as imap. At first sync, the 15,000+ emails downloaded to Outlook and the status bar reflected that the inbox was "Filtered" but the summary column only showed emails back to 10/5/20 while the GMail server showed emails back to 2010.

I removed the filters (View | View Settings | Filter... |Messages | Clear All). That action removed the filters and the status bar showed "items 15,000+" & "unread" 15000+". However, summary column still only shows emails back to 10/5/20.

In so far as I know when I access the GMail server through a browser there are no filters set w/in the gmail account.

Do you know of a way that all 15,000+ emails can be exposed in the summary column?

As ever, thanks for your knowledge and your willingness to share it so generously w/ we who are the lesser cognoscenti.

If you are also facing the missing emails from your Inbox, then you should try changing the custom filter settings. Because one of the most common causes of not receiving specific emails is that you might have applied a custom filter at some point in time. So, now you need to change the settings, follow below-mentioned steps.

On the View tab, click on the View Settings.
Now, select the Filter option from the menu of Advances View Settings.
Now, click on the Advanced tab in the Filter dialogue box. Here select the Received today option from the list and click on Remove.
Note: You will see Received Today option in the list only if this filter is already applied, if you can’t see it then most probably this is not the reason why your emails are missing.

Finally, click on the Ok button.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your thoughts on this matter. Are you saying that even though I can see emails back to 10/5./20 that the filter you reference above ("received today....") would (1) allow a months' worth of emails to show instead of just those received today and/or (2) that if the referenced filter exists it would prevent the older emails from displaying? Thanks, Currie
