Office2013 and BCM on Windows 8.1 -- install of BCM does not work?

Hello,

I have newly setup my PC with Windows 8.1 (64) and Office 2013 (32). Now I want to install the package

BCM2010-BCMSetup-x86-de-DE.exe.

WHen running it I get told that there is still an Office application running. But there is not.

I have closed all of them and also went to Task manager to look for office stuff. But there isn't any

(at least not obvious to me).

Trying this with the X64 package makes no difference in behaviour.

Any help is appreciated!

you need the 32bit version if you have 32 bit office.

Do you use Lync? Is the OneNote app in the Notification tray? Those two are easy to overlook - there is also an office document cache in some business versions that needs closed, but it's easier to spot because it has office in the name.

If you reboot and run it before doing anything, do you still get the errors?

I did a "clean" (msconfig and shuttiung down all kinds of services) install and it did install likke a charm.
