Workaround for the missing Activities tab in Contact Folder Properties in Outlook 2010?

In Outlook 2010, Microsoft stated that it removed the Activities tab from the Contact Folder Properties dialog box "because of low usage." I am wondering if there was ever a hotfix released to reinstate this missing tab, or if a workaround was discovered that offered similar functionality.

I have read already read Slipstick's article about Contact Activites in Outlook 2010; however, it offers no solution for the missing tab.

I know that you wrote that, "There is no real replacement for the missing tab." My apologies for asking, but could an advanced search for contact items search in additional folders (similar to the Activities tab) or could an add-on be developed that offers similar functionality?

I just regret that it was removed.
