I've been using Outlook for years, but for some reason Outlook 365 has recently gotten a mind of its' own. I like to use the Reading Pane set to mark messages read when I view them. I check the box to Mark items are read in the viewing pane and it will work that session, but when Outlook is closed, the setting is gone. When Outlook is re-opened I have to recheck the box. Digging into this, when Outlook does not display the box being checked to mark messages, going into "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Preferences\" I find "PreviewMarkMessage" set to 1. Additionally, some other quirks that have appeared, replying to messages, does not always pop out in a new window and the setting behaves as does the Preview setting above. If I create a message, then click send in the message, it sits in the outbox until I click "Send/Receive all Messages" in the ribbon.
To date, I repaired my Office 365 install, both the short quicker routine and the longer more extensive repair AND created a new Outlook profile for myself. Any more ideas to try?
Thanks
