MY Outlook 2021 changed the format of the shortcuts for mail, calendar etc.

Yesterday I opened Outllok 2021 and there was a message from Outlook saying thay did something blah blah blah.... to be honest I didn't read it just seen the messsage. Now my Outlook 2021 look has changed. I've give you a screenshot and the red arrow points to what changed. I'd like my original look back, has this happened to anyone else? Disreguard the yellow numbers and letters that happened when I copied it.

it's the new navigation bar- it's the new design, and Microsoft wants you to use it. They have given us a temporary reprieve - build 2211 allows you to "snooze" the feature of File > Options > Advanced - Show apps in Outlook. If you have all updates installed and are in Current channel, you should have this setting in Options.

Please vote for and comment on this suggestion - hopefully they will add a permanent solution for people who want to remove it.

Thanks Diane, now I have my Outlook back !!! why they would make that side bar is beyond me it looks terrible.
 
Not so Hot! it's a much better look with them at the bottom. Not to mention they have been there for years and why change something that isn't broken??

Is that a rhetorical question? :) It's Microsoft (or any big company)... they can change anything they want. LOL

They first made the change in Outlook on the web...I forget when it came to Outlook on mac.... but by the time it came to Outlook for windows, I was used to it.

I'm not crazy that it changes the keyboard shortcuts - they are now in the order of the buttons, so Ctrl+6 doesn't work for the folder list. But I like that I can disable the peeks coming up on hover. And to make up for the space it uses, the folder list can go narrower than with the buttons on the bottom. Not that it's a problem for me - Outlook has a 24" monitor to itself. My laptop is a different story - the screen is just too small to show much of anything.

Right away I was upset with the change but thank you for showing me the work around. I understand MS can chnage things as thye please but it would also be a good idea to give us the option to chose how we want the interface to work or look like.

where do I vote........lol
