Hi,

Can someone show me where the "Favorite Folders" is located in Outlook 2007?

In my old Outlook 2003, it is always loacted on the top of the navigation

pane. In 2007, it is hidden under "Public Folders", which is too deep in

the structure and hence loose its meaning to use it. The menu says that I

can turn it on or off by go to main menu/view/navigation pane/favorite

folders. But my navigation pane option has only "normal", "minimized",

"off" and "current view pane". I don't see "favorite folders" there. Can

someone help me out? I appreciate that.

JD

Never mind. I solved the problem. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello JD! 'Solved the problem' - just great! My 2007 Outlook does indeed

have the 'favourite folders' option so don't know why yours was missing. My

annoyance is that these 'favourites' are duplicated below under 'mail

folders' - I WANT TO LOSE the 'favourietes' which is just so much clutter.

I'd also like to lose Junk e-mail, RSS Feeds and other garbage folders. Can

you help me!

If there is any folder you don't want to see in "Favorites", right-click it

and choose "Remove from Favorites Folder". Alternatively, just use the

"Folder List" view of the Nav Pane and there won't even be a "Favorites"

section.

You cannot delete or hide any of the default folders Outlook creates when it

starts.

You can close the favorites list in Outlook 2007 - click the little chevrons

on the right side of the bar. Or you can put only the folders you want to

see on favorites and hide the mail folder list.

You can get rid of RSS capability and the folders, but you should do it

before you create a PST - see

How did you solve the problem?

I also do not have Favourite folders under View - Navigation Pane, so I can't turn it on.

Toasty.

Never mind. I solved the problem. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Did catherised images help you find it?

This thread was about locating the public folder favorties in Exchange accounts, not the favorites pane found on the Mail pane.

Yes, the image helped. It was too small to see exactly what was depicted, but it put me in the right direction.

thanks again.;)

They are clickable :) The full size version might still be small if you have a high res screen - they looked ok here but i use a lower resolution on this system.
