Problems with connector. Error message 80041003

Hi, I'm new to the site as I've tried a number of fixes without success so am hoping someone more knowledgeable can help me out on here. I'm currently using Outlook connector 14.0.6106.5001. I signed on yesterday to find that all my emails after april 2010 have disappeared . I tried installing a new version of connector and all the new office updates but nothing has worked. At the moment it stays on Connecting in the server status for about 15 minutes, about 2 emails will come through very slowly and then I recieve the following errors:

Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated, this is the main email account of a community centre that alot of people rely on so is quite urgent. Thankyou for your time.
 
if you log into the account online, are the messages in your inbox?

Do you have any large messages - over say, around 3 MB, in your mailbox or sent folder? If you do, delete them or edit the message ot remove the large attachment.

Just deleted all emails that were over 3mb from inbox, sent and junk folders and recieving this error message :

At the moment I am still waiting for server status update tochange from connecting,it's been about 20 mins so far

As a point of interest I am doing this for someone else as they are pretty much computer illiterate. Ive just noticed that the account is set up to type MAPI(default). As this account is using hotmail should this be on POP3? I tried to set up an account using POP3 earlier and on the account tester it did everything except it failed to send the test email. Does this help?

Quick update. I have a added a new hotmail account to Outlook which is running fine. I removed and re added the account I'm having trouble with but am still getting the same error message. Oddly it seems to be bringing in emails whilst I am using the other account. I checked the sync error inbox and read the names of some of the emails that are timing out. However when I found these emails they were no bigger than 1mb. Hope this is useful and that someone can come back tome with an answer. Will keep plugging away and let you know if i figure anything out.
 
I am having the same problem over the past several days. Using Outlook 2010 64bit and Hotmail. Individual messages will go through and I can access mail through the web, but Outlook is throwing errors in synchronizing folders every time. Nothing changed on my end - must me a microsoft bug.

Is there any thing in the sync errors folder? That can give us a clue as to the problem.

I wish I could copy and paste the error screen but Outlook will not let me. The errors are: 0x8004102A, 8de00002, 0x8DE00002, and 4201.

Just sent test message and now Outlook does not seem to be picking up anything at all. Hotmail webmail still works.

I guess I will try to remove the Hotmail account and reinstall.

Edit: Removed the Hotmail account from Outlook and reinstalled - it now seems to be working - still do not know what changed.
