Hello everyone, New member, first question.
Situation:
Laptop with Windows 7 x64 operating system added to the domain. Microsoft Outlook x84 and Business Contact Manager (BCM) installed.
Server is 2008 x64 with SQL 2008.
I have created the BCM databases with the BCM database tool. I created one for Washington DC, one for Florida, and one for Seattle. I created security groups for all the databases and added all my users to the groups. Restarted, and installed BCM on the local computers. Issue starts that it works perfectly for Washington DC, but Florida and Seattle don't work at all.
I have tried to add the permissions directly to the database, Tried the same user (we dont use roaming profiles) on different machines, tried to add a new database on a computer that is known good for washington DC and nothing seems to work for getting it. when I go through the connection wizard it sees the Florida and Seattle databases, but they are grayed and cannot be selected, however the Washington DC can be selected. I have had three other techs verify that all the settings are the same, but nothing seems to be different as far as we can see.
I have been looking around and found that it might be a sharing issue, but all the databases were created the same way and with the same utility one right after the next and again all the settings seem to be the same. I found an article that says it could be something to do with the firewall, but our local firewalls are turned off and we do have a domain firewall, but its settings are set the same across all locations, which leads the net ads to think it isn't that.
Any ideas?
