Outlook.com Contact Sync Issue

Hello,

I added my Outlook.com email to Outlook 2016 work desktop computer so I could sync my calendar and contacts. Everything worked great. However, lately with my contacts the job titles and company name disappear. This is very frustrating. Good thing is I backed everything in my Gmail account. I cannot get any help from Microsoft or find anything on the internet to fix this issue. Any help or advice would be great!

Thank you Diane. I did connect my Gmail account. However my job titles and company names for some accounts are still disappearing. I spent an hour with Microsoft with no solution in sight. I also show contacts unread. My Gmail account has no issues. I am about to dump Outlook for good.

They definitely should not be marked unread - when that happens, it usually means the method used to create the contact did not do it correctly.
Are all or just some marked unread?
Are you using any other sync utilities, like companionLink or Sync2?
Do you also sync with a smart phone?

BTW, is the folder shown like this: Contacts (10) or this: Contacts [35] ?
The bolded version is used for unread, the unbolded brackets is total count. You can change it in right-click, properties.

Also, open a contact in Outlook (the original contact form, not the new contact card) and look at the All Fields page - select all contact fields. Is Company & Job title blank there? Did they end up in other fields?

Hi Diane,

I do sync with a Blackberry Priv but never had this issue before. I do not use any other utilities as well. Once I get to my office I will try to do what you suggested.

This is a known issue with syncing contacts that have an entry in the Company Name field.

I'm thinking about switching my client that's having the problem to an Outlook.com premium account. However if they use the same servers, that likely won't fix the problem. Does anyone know if Outlook.com Premium uses the same servers?

Thanks for the note. My outlook contacts continue to lose job titles and company names. This is so disappointing for I prefer Outlook to Gmail but have no choice but to make the switch. I cannot figure out why this is an issue and cannot be fixed.

Is it still happening? I thought they fixed this recently (if not, it will be soon) - they finally discovered it happened if the address field was blank. Even putting a space in the field avoided the problem.
