multiple tasks view

My problem is: Each of one and the same task shows 3 times in my tasks view. I suspect that there is more than one folder as task. I have no idea why and more importantly how to get ridd of this. Your advice is most appreciated.

And the tasks within the folder are not duplicated, you only see the dupes in the To-do bar?




If you see dupes in the actual folder in either Tasks or Folder list, then you need to delete the dupes. If you only see them in the to-do bar's taskpad, then close outlook and restart using the /resettodobar switch - at the Start menu, run command or in the Start Search field, type or paste


outlook.exe /resettodobar


and press enter.
 
there are no dupe in my folder view but in my detail view. I have done the outlook.exe /resettodobar and still everything is triple. One other significance is that under tasks there is only one task each but as in the To-Do List there are all 3.
 
Did you try cleanviews switch? I really don't think uninstalling will fix it - but if its a view problem, a new pst will. But resettodobar and cleanviews should take care of it without a new pst.
 
If you have triple reminders its highly likely you have 3 copies of the item in your profile.

did you try making a new profile? If you are using a pst file, make a new profile without a mail account (cancel email config dialog) and add just that pst to the profile. Do you still get 3 copies of the task?
 
Hi, can anyone advise if there was a solution to this?I have exactly the same scenario; with triple listing in the to do bar and single version in the task list. If I complete one in the the to-do all three disappear so there is only one task - it just chooses to manifest itself as three! I wonder, though I'm not sure if it was linked to some third party add-ins such as Franklin Covey or similar.

I also note that if I flag an email it will appear 3 times in the to do list!

Also, what view are you using on the Task list in the to-do bar? If you group by category and have more than one category assigned, they will be listed once per category.
 
worked a treat :) I was having a bad day yesterday - and today my inboxes wiped themselves (pop and imap) with no prompting - not a big deal as I stay on top of it. All tasks, calendar and contacts intact.

However after an outlook repair and then your reset - I'm back in business - Thank you :D

FYI Also fixed my 'wiped' inbox issue. I had somehow turned on function to hide read email - so they were there; just hidden. Resolved by going into email view and selecting compact view.

Maybe there was a short cut key or the reset did something - anyway all good :D
