If I choose to move a message in my inbox, I get lots of choices for folders to put it in. Among these are 'Notes', and 'Notes1 (this computer only)'. Notes- sends it to a folder, which appears to be a Google Imap folder (if I right click > properties). Notes1- creates a sticky note of that particular message on my desktop. Is this correct behavior, or do I have remnants left over from old installations? I can't find information anywhere. Your main page specifies the reverse of this (attached)?? Where does OneNote figure in? Does IT use one of these 2 folders? Thank you.

...also, I only have a Google account, it's listed in accounts as 'Imap/SMTP', is this correct? (did a lot of account setup fooling around to get things right- why I asked.
 
You should only have "notes (This computer only)" in an Outlook 2013 imap account not Notes1.

If you want to get rid of the "this computer only" part, you need to make a pst for the non-mail items and set the pst as default, then move the contents of those from the imap data file to the local pst. Then close outlook, delete the imap pst and restart outlook. This will make a new pst without those folders.

IMAP is generally the best account type when available and gmail recommends using it, so yes, it's the correct account type.
