Missing sub-contact folders (distribution lists)

Hi,
I recently moved to a new computer using Outlook 2013 under Office 365 on my Windows 8.1 laptop.

I had to set up my account as pop3 to be able to continue to use existing .pst file for all saved email, contact, calendar folders. When I opened the .pst file, everything seemed great, all my saved email folders were there, new emails going to one existing data file. However, when I looked at Contacts, none of my sub-folders (previously saved distribution lists) were there. I have tried all the views, folder properties, and everything I can think of, but can't seem to find how to get them to be reflected.

How do I make them appear?

as an additional note ... when I just tried to search for someone who was in one of the saved subfolders, they came up, reflecting the name of the subfolder ... so I know it is there, I just can't find how to make it appear.

... strange solution ... when I selected "New Folder" (which didn't occur to me, since I was looking for existing), they all appeared.
 
That's odd. Are they all showing in the Contact module now? If not, go to the Folder list (Ctrl+6 will switch to it, or use the three dots in the navigation bar shortcuts to show the overflow menu) to find them.
