Missing remniders - new default file

Hi All,

I get a lot of emails and my pst files are very big in size (12-17GB) with one year emails. So at the end of every year I make a new file and set that as default - this way i have all my emails of each year in their respective files. This year too i will make new pst file 'myname 2012 emails.pst' and make this file as default on 1st Jan 2012. The problems that I faced previously were that when I make a new default file the reminders/flagged from my previous default files do not pop up - but do show the flags. So i want to know what am i doing wrong so that from 2012 i do not loose the reminders of my 2011 file.

note that 2011 file will still be there in outlook but will no longer be default.
 
I must be losing my mind - I thought I answered this earlier. :)

you need to right click on the top level of the pst and choose properties then verify the display reminders and tasks... is enabled. You also need to pst file enabled for search. click in the search field and then expand Search tools, location to search.

Hi Diane,

Thanks for reply - i have come across this suggestion across many forums but here is the kicker, i have never been able to find this option (Display reminders and tasks) in the pst properties.

Can you please check where can I find this option. my file properties screenshot is:

Are you delivering mail to the data file? If so, the tasks and reminders are enabled by default if the folder is set for search - the option is only available in pst files not used for delivery.
