Hello

I upgraded from Outlook 2010 to 2013 this week and am now getting this problem. Every so often, I send meeting invites from my work email (using Outlook 2010) to my home email. Instead of receiving the meeting request to accept into my Outlook 2013 calendar, I get an OWA link. This means I can only accept the meeting and see it if I log into Office 365.

The Office 365 calender isn't synced to my Outlook 2013 (can't find out how to do that) but it's not the fix I'm after. It's a pain as I just want to accept and see it in my Outlook 2013 calendar.

Any ideas?

Hello Diane

Thanks for replying, I'm a big fan. :)

My work email is on exchange, Outlook 2010. I simply do what I've always done, forward the meeting invite to my home email (pop3) or create the meeting in my work email and invite my home email. My home email was on Outlook 2010 and I received the meeting invites in Outlook format, it's only since upgrading my home email to Outlook 2013 that I've had the OWA format issue.

Interestingly, if I create/forward a work meeting invite from a browser, it appears in Outlook format in my home email on Outlook 2013. It's only going from Outlook 2010 using an exchange email to Outlook 2013 pop3 email when the problem happens.

Any help you can give me would be great. I tend to email home with meeting invites I create to mark holidays or personal appointments and it's driving me nuts have to key these entries in twice.

Thanks

Flattery will get you everywhere. :)

Are the forwards ok in the Sent items folder? I think the TNEF data is getting lost and I'm trying to figure out why and where.

I've not seen any with URLs though - they usually just have the appointment details in a message body.

Hello

I've checked my sent folder (work email) and the meeting invites are formatted correctly as Outlook meetings. This is what arrives in my pop3 email on Outlook 2013 (home email):

Microsoft Outlook Web Access: https://amsprd0710.outlook.com/owa/...mAAAAIBFxAABT8We55COQRJbRv8pEvGFmAAACOsUZAAAL

And that's it. No meeting information, just that link.

Hope this helps, is there any other information I can give you?

Hello

Any chance you've been able to take a look at this?

Many thanks

I have but i haven't been able to repro it - when i send the meeting using imap or pop using my office 365 account, it works correctly. You aren't the only one with the problem - it looks like it's related to using IMAP or POP3 with an Office365 hosted exchange but no one knows exactly what's happening. At least one Outlook 2011 for mac user also have this problem - also using office365.

Thanks Diane. So it looks like there's a snafu from exchange, Outlook 2010 to pop3 using Outlook 2013. Funnily enough, it works fine the other way!

That's what it looks like to me, but I can't repro and it's not consistent for you so there is another piece of the puzzle.. or it's just an idiosyncrasy with office365 when traffic is high volume or something. Does it seem to happen more often during certain time periods than others?

I've tested it every which way and at all times of the work week and weekend. Each time I sent a calendar invite from my office Outlook 2010 exchange account to my pop3 email on Outlook 2013, it appears only as an OWA link to Office 365. Which is hopeless to me as my Office 365 calendar isn't synced to my Outlook 2013 calendar (not sure how to do that). Besides, I want the meeting invite details without having to click the link so not planning on spending a great deal of time looking for that solution. My slightly time consuming workaround is to forward the few office meetings I want in my home Outlook 2013 calender by accessing my work email via a browser.
