Outlook 2013 search no longer works

Maybe two weeks ago, Outlook search stopped working for me. Windows 10 Pro 64, latest patches applied, with Office 2013 Pro.

Search no longer seems to work for mail, calendar, and people.

I checked Windows search to make sure that Outlook was included in the list of searched folders and applications, and then I rebuilt the search index ( over 200,000 items!) No change after the indexing process was done.
 
Open Outlook and head to File > Options > Search > Indexing Options. Select Modify from the Indexing Options panel. Make sure there is a check alongside Microsoft Outlook, then press OK. Now, restart your system.

Done that already, twice now. Amazed at just how many items are indexed.

Here is the weird part. If the Mail tab is active, and I right-click on People, I get a mini-search window which does work.
