Hello! I am new to the forum so thank you in advance for your your guidance.
I recently upgrade to Outlook 2013 and I cannot find a feature that I used to use in previous versions. I get a lot of messages but I am not as organized as I should be. I will get a note from someone and fail to file it in a folder other that the default inbox. Over a period a time form the default inbox, I would use the "Search Current Mailbox" and search for whatever I am looking for (sender, subject, etc.) and when I hit enter or hit the magnifying search glass, then I get a subset of the notes. I want to be able to highlight whatever items and then hit the "Move" function and file them in another folder.
In 2013, when I hit the move button and select the folder, it goes back to the list and does not move any of the items. In the previous version, I could accomplish that task. Has this function been removed or is there an Option that I need to set first?
Also related to this, when I find the note I am looking for and it is the selected item, I want to cancel the find option and then the selected item is still highlighted. Again, this is the way the older versions worked. Instead now, it takes me to the top of the list based on whatever my sort option was (sender, date, etc.). The same question as before, is this been purposely changed or can I change a setup option?
