Hi Diane,
Thanks very much for all your kind advice.
I've recently upgraded my computer to windows 8.1 with office 2013. Up until now, I've used windows 7 and outlook 2010, and syncing the outlook with my iphone 4 using itunes has been a breeze.
Alas when I synced the new computer with my iphone, all the contacts and calenders have been erased from the phone. They still exist in outlook just fine, but I cannot sync them to the iphone. After countless hours with various support techs, I talked to Apple today and was told I can only use the icloud service to sync the outlook with the phone. I'm not crazy about it, but I'll live with it if that is indeed the only solution. I tried setting up the icloud account, but I recieve an error message "Setup cannot continue because outlook isn't configured to have a default profile. Check your outlook settings and try again."
I have only one email account (POP) and one data file (.pst) and they are both defined as default in outlook so I don't know what the problem is. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated. I have a business trip in 2 days and I don't know how I'll manage without my calenders and contacts on the iphone.
Thanks in advance!!
