Having an odd issue with one email account...
Background:
Using Hosted Exchange via Rackspace.
Server is Exchange 2010
Outlook versions affected: 2013 & 2016
Both are running the latest updated versions.
I have 2 users accessing the same email account called 'compliance'. One is on OL 2016, the other is on OL 2013.
The folders in that account shift around by themselves. This isn't in the "Favorites" area either. One moment 'Inbox' is on top. The next moment, 'Deleted Items' will be on top, then another, etc. At one point on my OL 2016 user, the 'Inbox' and 'Junk mail' folders just start swapping positions rapidly and Outlook hangs.Then we get the "Not Responding" dialog box asking us if we want to restart Outlook.
My OL 2013 user sees the folders shift around, but Outlook never hangs and she doesn't see the rapid position change my OL 2016 sees.
What I've tried:
Turning off all mail handling rules for both users
Starting in safe mode
Creating new profile with just the 'compliance' address.
Current work around:
Removed the compliance email from my OL 2016 users profile.
Granted her work email account 'Both' (Full Access and Send As) permissions to the compliance account.
Disadvantages with that work around:
Can't recover deleted email
Any email sent using the compliance address goes into her work accounts "Sent Items" folder. They do not go into the compliance Sent Items folder.
Other:
This folder shifting behavior began after I removed the 'Both' permissions from each user's work accounts and added the compliance account on their computers.
