Over 10 years of contacts there the other night. The next morning i lost probably more than 95%. I have started using icloud to sync the contacts to my mobile devices. Which dumped my contacts and can i get them back? There is no obvious pattern to determine which contacts were removed. i still have very old ones and new ones left. HELP!
To eliminate the more obvious... is icloud your only source of backup? IE, do you have any copy of your PST data file(s) on any of your hard drives or removable media, thumb drive, CD, DVD, etc? I think facing your situation I'd gather whatever files contain my contacts and load them into my current Outlook file, then remove any duplicates.
In addition to ajmich's comments, were they deleted from the iCloud folder or from Outlook's contact folders? When you first set up iCloud, it sucks all of the contacts from Outlook's local contact folders into the iCloud contact folder. This usually causes a panic among new iCloud users, because they don't see the contacts when they click the To button.
If you switch to the contact navigation pane, you can look in all of the contact folders to see if you can find the missing contacts.
