Send/receive getting stuck

I have a new computer (Windows 7, 64-bit) that is running 32-bit Outlook 2010. I have downloaded the Hotmail connector (also 32 bit), but the synchronisation isn't working properly. When I did the initial connection it was fine. However, when I tried to connect a few days later, no new emails get downloaded. I deleted the account and reinstalled. It connected and downloaded about half of my messages, but it has now stopped downloading anything further.

I am able to send Hotmail emails from Outlook, so I know it's connected to the server somehow. However, I can't receive anything in Outlook (though I do receive things in the web version of Hotmail), so something isn't right.

Any suggestions?

When did you last delete the account from outlook? I wonder if this is the bug FIX they started rolling out yesterday. Outlook didn't sync right and only downloaded newish mail. Then each time it downloaded more of the old mail. Other users reported they needed to remove the account and re-add it for the fixed sync to work.
