I have frequently used the note recording facility on my WM6 PDA which saves them in Outlook Notes as a file with .wav extension. Since upgrading to W8.1 they are now shown as what appears to be an email message - they appear with an envelope next to them in stead of the Windows Media Player logo.

This is only on the PC side, on my PDA they still appear as they always have done

I can play the recordings on my PDA but not on the PC - it simply tried to open it as an email message. It is a real shame if they have done away with this facility - its another blow following there retraction of WMDC support -0 I canb get round most thing, but not this.

Anyone found a way round this?

I don't have any notes to test - unless i can remember which archive pst they are in or charge my old pda up and try creating new notes.

How are you syncing to outlook?

I am using PDASync 4 - it is the only thing I can find that will sync my PDA with my PC, I did use WMDC
 
yes and it worked fine, previous OS was Windows 8 and Outlook 2010. It only changed with the 2013 upgrade, but I also upgraded to W8.1. Is there another sync programme I could try or do you think it is just an problem with Outlook 2013?

Does anyone else have the same problem? Or can anyone advise another method of syncing? If not I will just have to accept that they have done away with this facility in Outlook 2013
